Milking Parlour Electrical System and Control Panel Installation
Our client is a well-known County Kildare Dairy Farmer whose family have been in the Dairy business for generations.
He invested significantly to upgrade his Milking Parlour system and thus required firstly an upgrade in his electricity supply and the introduction of an electrical control panel system to efficiently run his new Milking Parlour.
The farmer is also very aware of climate change and his carbon footprint and requested his farm lighting system to be upgraded to an energy efficient LED system as part of the project.
The Challenge
The farm used legacy electrical and Milking Parlour systems which were no longer fit for purpose and were not up today’s standards.
The project had to run seamlessly as the farmer needed to continue to use his existing Milking Parlour throughout the project. The challenge was to ensure that there was no interruption to his business operations whilst the work was being completed. Trident Controls needed to ensure the upgrade to the Electricity supply from 12KVA to 29 KVA was completed prior to the new installation going live.
Our client wished to reduce his energy consumption and thus his farms carbon footprint by the installation of energy efficient lighting systems as part of the project.
The Implementation
Trident Controls was chosen as the provider due to our proven track record in designing, manufacturing, and commissioning complex electrical control panels across multiple industries. We were also chosen, as our Director Patrick McNamara has significant knowledge of the agriculture industry.
The project kicked off with a thorough review of our clients’ requirements and a review of the specifications of the new Milking Parlour machinery being installed by Dairymaster. Detailed project plans were drawn up by Trident Controls Limited and agreed by our client and Dairymaster.
Trident Controls Limited engaged with and managed the upgrade of the electricity power supply with the ESB and ensured that all works were certified in line with current electrical standards.
Trident Controls sourced the highest quality component parts for our clients electrical control panel and lighting systems, buying over 98% of the component parts required from Irish suppliers in line with our Guaranteed Irish Ethos.
The electrical control panel was built and tested following to the highest standards following best in class procedures.
The control panel was installed by Trident Controls and commissioned in 2022.
The Result:
Our client was able to migrate to his new Milking Parlour system on the project live date with no down time in the changeover. The client did not lose an hour in downtime throughout the project lifecycle because of the tight project management discipline applied by Trident Controls Limited and Diarymaster.
The Milking Parlour system worked to the highest specifications required by Dairymaster, and the milk was cooled to the required temperatures.
With the introduction of the increased power supply, our client had surety that there would be no interruption to the power supply to his farm and to his home next door.
